How diverse are Tampa Bay universities’ leadership teams and boards?

As racial tensions came to a head in June 2020 with the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis, a similar reckoning began to occur within the walls of higher education institutions.

Leaders at the five Tampa Bay institutions in the region initially gave statements expressing their sadness and disappointment as the events unfolded. Some were forthcoming about the change they needed to make on their own campuses, while others made more subtle references to the changes needed beyond Tampa Bay to address local institutional inequities…
