## What is a hackathon?

Think of a hackathon as a place where people get together to build a mini startup, over the course of 2 days. You have designers, developers, business analyst, and idea bringers who make it come to life.

The theme is telecommunications related – think video conferencing, SMS and phone call tools etc. Past projects include things like building a phone app to send you a daily fun quote of the day by SMS, or a robot controlled with built in video feeds.

Anyone is welcome to attend, of all skills levels in tech. You don’t need to be a seasoned developer, beginners are encouraged to come!

This is a great place to learn from others in different disciplines, and to learn how software products are shipped out in the industry.

10 AM – check in
Noon – 1 PM – catered lunch from a sponsor
6 PM – 7 PM – catered dinner from a sponsor

2PM – 3 PM – Pitches to your project
4 PM – Prize awards
5 PM – wrapping up and closing
