Exclusive CxO Networking Dinner
October 19 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
💎 ABOUT EVENT
This invite-only event is an exclusive dinner for technology and business leaders in South Florida to come together to share, learn from each other, and engage as thought leaders in our tech community.
This peer-to-peer discussion will be on ” Investing in Technology through a Choppy Economy.”
A 2022 Harvard Busines Review reads, ” With declines in tech and retail stock prices, rising inflation and interest rates, and persistent supply chain issues, so far, 2022 is turning out to be gloomier than anyone’s expectations about a Covid-recovery economy. How should companies respond to these economic developments?”
The article continues, “A natural impulse is to cut costs across the board by postponing new projects; reducing discretionary expenditures like research and development, marketing, and employee training; freezing new hiring; and reducing headcounts. And because digital stocks have suffered the most dramatic declines in stock prices recently, one may erroneously conclude that this is the end of the digital revolution, and some firms could start cutting back on their digital transformation efforts accordingly.
The authors argue that these aren’t necessarily the best strategies for the current times. On the contrary, current developments offer unique opportunities to judiciously invest in the future.“
Let’s come together to answer some of the questions below and help continue to push our South Florida tech ecosystem forward.
- How should business leaders respond during a downturn in the economy?
- Are South Florida companies continuing to invest or pulling back in fear?
- How does technology integrate into acceleration and further investments?
