Episode 10 of [I’MPULSE Sessions: Design By Nature:](https://event.eu.on24.com/eventRegistration/EventLobbyServlet?target=reg20.jsp&eventid=8000035163&sessionid=1&key=0B27C4743063AFFD7AE6405A26A45E1D&groupId=307411&sourcepage=register)
The fast pace of living and doing, and the traditional approach of solely focusing on the operational efficiency of design practice has reached its limits and it is time to embrace a new, more holistic approach to scaling ideas, products, and services.
To prioritize effectiveness, designers and companies must shift away from reactive and linear design processes and adopt a systems thinking approach that takes into account the complexities of the natural world. This requires continuous research methods – both qualitative and quantitative – and cross-functional teams to ensure that all perspectives are considered.
For UX designers, this means expanding their toolkit to frame solutions that are suited for complex environments, and moving away from the outdated notion that user behavior can be understood and predicted through linear and closed frameworks. Instead, they should focus on creating solutions that are effective for all stakeholders, including the environment, and prioritize impactful outcomes over wasteful outputs.
